Future Students

This section of the Faculty website includes useful information for prospective students, such as what degrees we offer, where you can find out more, dates and deadlines as well as key features of studying here.

If you are looking for information for new and current students check out those sections in our website. This section is separated into three parts to help you find the information you need easily.

Undergraduate

An undergraduate degree involves 3 to 4 years of study, leading to a qualification of Bachelor. Assessment is usually based on completed assignments, presentations and exams. Find out about the disciplines we teach in the Areas of Study section of our website. Students with a strong academic record may choose to take a year of honours study at the end of their Bachelors degree. An honours program gives you the freedom to explore a research topic outside of the constraints of a normal unit of study.

Postgraduate Coursework

Postgraduate coursework involves structured programs of study in discrete units, leading to a qualification of Certificate, Diploma or Masters. Assessment is usually based on completed assignments, presentations and exams. Find out more about our postgraduate awards in the Postgraduate Coursework Programs section of our website.

Higher Degree Research

The Faculty of Science offers full time and part time research programs, which lead to a qualification of Doctor of Philosophy, Honours Degree or Master, or the Degree of Master by Research. All research degree programs involve the preparation of a thesis, which embodies the results of a student's research work. The thesis is assessed by a panel of external experts.
