Get more out of university, improve your employment prospects
You've just graduated from university and are sitting down to your first job interview. You really, really want this job. What sets you apart from other applicants?
Employers are looking for graduates with more than good academic records. Increasingly, employers want graduates who have excellent communication skills, initiative and the ability to work independently. Members of Macquarie University are helping science, engineering and technology students to get more out of university and improve their employment prospects by:
- Providing opportunities to network with prospective employers
- Receiving information about new scholarships and personal development opportunities
- Receiving help in writing scholarship applications - great experience for upcoming science professionals
- Encouraging and assisting students to undertake personal development activities like public speaking, leadership programs, volunteer work, and sporting activities.
High-achieving, motivated students from the Faculty of Science are invited to become members of Bright Futures, a new society for Macquarie University's talented science, engineering and technology students.
Information about extra-curricular activities will be announced on the Current students page of this website, via email, on noticeboards and in lectures.
