- The Science Research Spot has links to a broad range of research projects that scientists are working on in institutions all over Australia. Sites are chosen to compliment the school syllabus. Use the site to source material for your next lesson plan.
- Get SET Search is an interactive tool that helps students discover the range of science, engineering and technology careers available to university graduates.
- Experience 'science in the making' in the Pilbara of Western Australia. Using the Internet and 3D visualisation software, scientists from NASA and Macquarie University share their discoveries from invisible worlds to the remote areas of the Pilbara.
- Macquarie University has a mobile planetarium that can come to your school.
- A liaison officer and university student can come to your school to talk about studying at Macquarie University.
- Macquarie University sponsors the Eureka Schools Prize for Earth, Environmental and Planetary Science.

Visit Macquarie University
- School groups are invited to visit Macquarie University's museums including the Biological Sciences Museum and the Earth Sciences Museum
- Students are invited to visit an optoelectronics laboratory
- Students can take part in work experience in one of Macquarie University's science, engineering or technology departments
- Macquarie University runs a weekend School of Astronomy
- The Observatory is open every Friday night but astronomy open nights are only held twice a year, contact Alan Vaughan
- Science Outreach in Northern NSW. The Maquarie University Indigenous Bioresources Research Group facilitates economic and social development within Aboriginal communities and works with Indigenous people to investigate the efficacy of bush medicines.
Awards and competitions
- The Science and Engineering Challenge will be held at Macquarie University on 20 July 2007. The Challenge is designed, through fun and practical hands-on activities, to inspire Year 10 students and inform them of the career opportunities available in science, technology and engineering.
- The Young Scientist Awards is an annual competition for students from kindergarten to Year 12.
